Present in Our Communities
Our Bayleys teams are proudly active in the local communities they serve, with offices in Whanganui, Ohakune, Palmerston North, Marton, Feilding, and Taihape.
Across these locations, Bayleys' salespeople, property managers, support staff, and managers make up a team of 65 locals dedicated to the people and businesses they work alongside.
End-to-End Capability
Our network offers comprehensive property services, including residential, commercial and rural real estate sales, property management and mortgage advisory services.
Bartley Group's significant presence and activity in the real estate sector, combined with our diverse business base and connections in New Zealand and abroad, gives us good insight into local, national and international economies and opportunities.

BGH Industry Background
Our experience in the property sector began in 2012, with Robert Bartley's acquisition of Ray White Whanganui. In 2018, John Bartley purchased Bayleys Whanganui and Ruapehu, building on his business management background and extensive experience working in the real estate market with Ray White and Bayleys.
In 2022, the Bartley family consolidated the respective real estate businesses, merging Ray White with Bayleys and establishing Bartley Realty to manage a large portfolio of out-of-region rental properties in Rangitikei and Manawatū.

Regional General Manager Rachel Thompson & Bayleys Managing Director John Bartley
Under John's leadership as Managing Director, the Bartley Group's Bayleys reach has continued to grow. In 2025, the purchase of Bayleys Manawatū, Rangitikei and Horowhenua significantly expanded this reach. This acquisition boosted the team's numbers to 65 salespeople, property managers, support staff and managers across five offices covering six district territories.
Our Goal is to Grow
When the purchase was announced, John Bartley said the larger market presence across the Manawatū-Whanganui region provided an exceptional opportunity: “Quite simply, our goal is to grow." Bayleys has continued in this aim, adding a Taihape office to its network in late 2025.
Having offices and representation in the heart of the districts they serve enables our Bayleys teams to directly support communities and connect with people and businesses. As Bayleys' most recent expansion was announced, John reiterated the Bartley Group's foundational values and alignment with Bayleys' values, “We're a family business at heart, and we want to look after our people.”
